Nathan T. Wright
Nathan began his career in the advertising agency world, where he developed digital media strategy for clients of all shapes and sizes. His interest in social networks led him to entrepreneurship and the formation of Lava Row in 2007.
Nathan helps large corporations and brands navigate the ever-shifting digital media space with emphasis on training, best practices and business value. In addition to his consulting work, he frequently speaks about technology topics at industry conferences such as South by Southwest, professional organizations and universities.
In 2010 he taught Internet Marketing as an adjunct instructor at Drake University. Nathan is active in the Des Moines technology, start-up and entrepreneur community. He co-pilots Uppward, an iPhone travel application, as a side project. You can also find him blogging at nathantwright.com.
Nathan graduated from Iowa State University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. He once attempted to sell his soul on eBay, earning him 15 minutes of worldwide fame and mockery. He aspires to one day be distinguished enough to wear a monocle.
Norah joined Lava Row in April 2010. As a digital strategist, Norah borrows from her journalism background to help companies share their stories in new and engaging ways online, and coaches clients as they integrate social platforms into their traditional communications efforts. She also heads up Lava Row’s social media workshops and events, bringing targeted discussions about emerging social platforms to Des Moines’ professionals.
Originally from Minnesota, Norah moved to Des Moines in 2007 to study magazine journalism and English at Drake University. During her time at Drake, Norah wrote and edited for publications including Think Magazine and Drake Magazine. She spent a year interning at Midwest Living with Meredith Corporation before diving into social media.
Outside of her work at Lava Row, Norah serves on the Drake University National Alumni Board of Directors and is a member of the Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication Advisory Council. Norah is also the proud owner of an African pygmy hedgehog named after Apple co-founder Steve “Woz” Wozniak.
